Today is my mom's actual birthday. The dinner we had on Sunday was great. The turkey was delicious and the pie turned out great (although you really do have to get the slices paper-thin). Auntie L was waiting by the phone to listen as she opened her gifts. We all pitched in and bought her pearls. The whole ensemble: necklace, bracelet and earrings. She was so surprised! She's never had many pieces of real jewelry before and who couldn't use a nice set of pearls? So, Happy Birthday, Mom! We love you!
