Rainy Spring

So, it's been raining buckets here in Portland. It's to be expected, it's spring. We usually see some warmer temperatures and a few more sunny days, though. I don't hate the rain. I kind of like it. I don't mind getting wet and I like the cleanness and greenness the rain brings us. One thing I don't like is the slugs. Slugs have completely eaten 3 of my vegetable plants. All the way down to the ground. You cannot even tell there was a plant there. The lonely, sideways plant tag sticking out of the ground just reminds me of the squash and cucumbers we could have been eating. Aargh! I'll just replace them, but holy cow! I would let the chickens check it out, but they eat the plant along with the slugs.
