Parade

T is waiting for the parade to begin.

We made it to the Grand Floral Parade! T and I took the MAX down on saturday and waited with the rest of the people in the chilly rain to see the floats and marching bands. It couldn't have been simpler. We hopped on the train around 8:30, hopped off at the convention center and walked less than 100 feet. We sat just under the band judges and did have to share the spot with another family, but it worked out great. We were right in front! There was quite a bit of scandal this year over the tradition of saving a spot by taping off a portion of sidewalk, so I thought it would be best to just walk-on.

By the time the parade started, T was pretty chilly and we were starting to get wet. We saw all the mounted police from all around the state, some pretty great floats, and several marching bands. T's favorite was the Reeser's float. It was a tiger jumping through a ring of flames. With REAL FIRE! Pretty soon after the fire float was Battle Ground's float. It won an award this year. T could only handle so much of the drizzle, so we headed home after about an hour and a half. It was so nice to spend a couple hours with only T. I haven't been able to since H was born.
