I'll let you go, but you have to come right back!

Lately, T doesn't want me to leave after I kiss him good night. He snuggles close as I finish the story and as I lean in for the kiss, he wraps his arms around me and says, "I'm not going to let you go!" I say, "But what if I have to go to the bathroom" and he says, "I'll let you go, but you have to come right back!" It's pretty sweet, but his death grip on my neck is leaving a burn! The only way I escaped tonight was to promise that I would tell him last night where Klickitat street is and what park it's near. We're reading Henry Huggins right now. Henry lives on Klickitat Street. In the chapter we just finished he catches night crawlers in a park near his home to earn money for a real leather football. I think we'll be finished with the book by Thursday evening and we can walk down Klickitat street and try to discover which house might have been Henry's then we'll go down to Grant Park and play on the playground that Henry may have played on. I know that he's only an imagined character, but it'll be fun to T. The story is totally cracking me up. I remember reading lots of Beverly Cleary when I was in elementary school and liking the books. I was surprised there were so many Henry books. We'll read some of the Ramona series, but Henry is appealing because he's a boy.

Hope you've had a great long weekend. I have to go wash off the weeding stains!
