A Day in my Life

This morning during breakfast this squirrel came knocking on the window for some snacks. We've run out of "critter-crunch" until the next shopping trip, so T passed our last bread crust out the window. I hope it doesn't give him crummies in his tummy.

These are T's new super fast, ultra cool shoe laces. They are easy to tie and stay that way. Plus, they're red. Anything red is just right in T's book. They look fantastic in his shoes. I was skeptical when he picked them out, but the kid's got style! Red laces are definitely Super-T approved.

The boys are beginning to play together more and more these days. It cracks me up and leaves me free to make dinner.

Also, I'm reading a new book: Above All, Be Kind*. So far it's great. Great in the way that makes you question every thing you do, wear, eat and purchase. It's stuff I've been thinking about lately, so to read about it is good. There are lots of concrete examples and so far the author isn't too preachy. I think it will help me articulate some of the life changes I've been considering. I'm going to try to talk my friend into reading it, too, so I can have someone to discuss the ideas with. Sometimes I really miss being in class with others reading the same stuff as I am to bounce ideas off of. Sounds like I need to join a book club? You go get it and call me! I'm only on chapter three.

So, all in all, I guess a day in my life isn't too bad. I mean, I live inside, my kids are healthy and they love me. What do I have to complain about?

*did you notice the suggestive sell on the web page? How do they know that I'm a "fly off the handle at the slightest provocation" kind of parent? I promise I haven't bought any self-help books, but maybe I need to. Hmmm.... you've got me figured out, Amazon.

Great laces! I haven't done the shoe tying thing in quite some time...

What's wrong with self-help books, anyway? Give this one a try, The Woman's Field Guide to Exceptional Living," by Corrie Woods. Every woman -- busy professional, stay-at-home moms, all of us looking for 'something more,' will get something out of this. Corrie Woods speaks with a gentle and playful voice that keeps the reader turning each page with anticipation. It's the perfect blend of practical advice and sage wisdom.
